Honestly, I have no idea what the best computer speakers are but I can tell you which ones I favor and why. I have listened to a lot of 2.1 systems and so far the one I like the best in the 150 dollar price range are the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certified. It has a built in 200-watt digital amplifier with a convenient headphone jack as well as a miniplug input. This system is compatible with gaming consoles and most portable audio devices. I have always had a fondness for Klipsch speakers and this is a great sound for the price.
If you are looking for the best computer speakers at around fifty dollars I recommend the Cyber Acoustics CA-3602 2.1 system. The only cheap thing about this set is the price. They don’t sound like a set of cheap speakers. I don’t think there is better sound in this price range. They don’t sound like a set of Klipsch ProMedia when you crank them but I think they are the best computer speakers in the fifty dollar price range. If you are looking for a place to put your MP3 player and do not want to spend a lot of money then this is the system for you because it comes with a MP3 cradle.
If you want to pay even less take a look at the even cheaper Logitech S220. They get good reviews on Amazon but I can’t recommend them. To me they sound kind of lame when the volume is turned up. They sound fine as long as the volume is not turned up too high. What good is a set of speakers of you can’t crank them?
2.1 speaker are the most common speaker systems used on computers. The reason is there are some great sounding 2.1 systems and they do not take up much space. Another reason for this is once a person has spent their money one computer they may not want to spend even more on the best computer speakers they can buy. They may just want something that sounds great enough. Lets take a look at a 5.1 system that is more than you may want to spend but really has some kick. Then we can look at some less expensive, great sounding 5.1 systems.
Best Computer Speakers
I used Logitech computer mice from when they first came out. I always liked how their products feel and sound. They make great products that work well and last. I think the best computer speakers in the Logitech brand are the Logitech Z-5500 THX-Certified 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Speaker System. This is a big step up in price but this is a great set of speakers and I had to put the Logitech Z-5500s in this article. This will make your computer have some kick to it with 5 speakers and a base at 505 Watts of total power. You can hook this up to your computer, DVD player, TV, MP3 player, or gaming system and it will sound great. The Z-5500 will not distort when you turn it up. This system has a very high volume level and bass control. The high-clarity THX-certified sound stays clear when you turn on the power.
If you love Logitech computer products like I do and you want a 5.1 system you need to take a look at the Logitech X-540. It is a big step down from the 5500 but they are still great PC speakers. The price is right and the setup is easy, just right if you just want to start small and inexpensive the X-540 may be the best computer speakers for you. Great sound for such a compact system, they are worth every penny.
